I have two dogs, and I have never thought of cutting their hairs. To be honest, It would be a great idea because they are quite long. Do you think I can use any scissors to cut long hair? Also, my dogs move a lot, and I am afraid to hurt them by accident. Which of these scissors would you suggest in my case? First I would like to say thank you for the nice compliment. What type of dogs do you own? Not all long-haired dog breeds require haircuts. Some are meant to stay long like the Yorkie and Shih-Tzu. It also depends on how old your dogs are. If they are young then you should be able to get them used to the grooming process yourself. If you feel you are not ready for the job than yes, take them to a professional groomer and you can begin to maintain them between visits to the groomers.
